Previous University: Emily transferred to UAH from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. However, she redshirted in her only season.

Prep: Emily prepped at Scottsboro High where she competed in both cross country and track. In 2007, she was 5A Alabama individual cross-country state champion. In 2005, she was the 5A indoor state champion in the 3200m. Emily was a memeber of the #1 Southeast girls team and NTN member of the state champion and school record holding 4x800m relay team. She was All-State from 8-12 grade in cross-country, All-State from 7-12 grade in track, two-time track MVP (2007, 2008) and team captain. In addition, Emily was a member of FBLA and FTA.
