Decatur - It took three seasons for UAH coach Les Stuedeman to hit the century mark in victories. Since her 100th win in 1998, the milestones have been coming a lot faster. On Friday, the Charger skipper reached victory No. 700 with a 4-0 shutout of Ouachita Baptist on day two of the Gulf South Conference Crossover at Wilson-Morgan Park.
Freshman pitcher Whitney Gilbert

had two hits and drove in a pair of runs on her ninth homer of the season. Kelli Long
and Krystal Johnson
added their names to the multiple hits list, both going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Lawson's jack gave UAH a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Then in the seventh inning, Long hit a high pop that was lost in the clear blue sky by the OBU infielders and dropped to the ground. She wound up stretching the bizarre play into a double, then came home on Duke's blast to round out the scoring.

The North Georgia Saints came into the Charger Softball Complex ranked No. 1 and unbeaten. Unfortunately for the home team they left the same way as the Saints swept UAH 7-4 and 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon. North Georgia improved to 33-0, while the Chargers fell to 24-7. It was the first time the Chargers would lose to NGU as they entered the day 5-0 all time against the Saints.
The opening game, which needed an extra session to be decided, went from a pitcher's duel to a slugfest in the final three innings. The Chargers got on the board first in the fourth inning when Emily Roach
scored on a ground-out by Michelle Ingram. North Georgia answered with a run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 1-1.
Things started to get wild in the sixth inning as North Georgia scored three runs to take a 4-1 lead. With their backs against the wall and down to their final strike, the Chargers came back from the dead. With a ball and two strikes on her and two runners aboard, Roach smashed a high drive to center field for a three-run homer, tying the score at 4-all.
The Chargers threatened to finish the dramatic comeback in the inning. Pitcher Whitney Hawkins
and catcher Krystal Johnson
reached on back-to-back singles. But, Ingram popped out to end the inning.
The Saints snatched the momentum back in the eighth inning, scoring three runs on the power of a pair of home runs, a two-run shot by Pilar Harden and a solo homer by Laura Voyles. The Chargers were unable to answer in the bottom of the inning.
Hawkins (11-2) took the loss for UAH. She pitched all eight innings, allowed five earned runs on 11 hits, struck out five and walked two.
UAH had 12 hits in the game, three each by Roach and Beth Lawson. Roach's homer was her sixth of the season. Johnson and Eric Duke were both 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Chargers scored first in the second game as well on a solo home run by Lawson. But the Saints responded with two in the second inning and three more in the third to take a 5-1 lead. The Chargers were unable to mount a serious threat the rest of the game.
Whitney Gilbert
fell to 11-3 with the loss. She pitched seven innings, allowed two earned runs on six hits. She had seven strikeouts and four walks.
Whitney Schrimsher
had two hits for the Chargers while Ingram had her seventh double. Lawson's home run was her seventh of the season.
The Chargers hope to rebound on Friday when they host West Georgia in a Gulf South Conference doubleheader.
