UAH Tennis to Host Inaugural Charger Stampede

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The UAH tennis program will be hosting its first annual I.T.A. Charger Stampede this weekend, as both the men and women will be in action at the Charger Tennis Facility.
 
Beginning this Friday, September 7, UAH will welcome in five other schools to the campus. Joining the Chargers in competition will be Lincoln Memorial, Western Kentucky, Shorter, Auburn-Montgomery and Asbury College.
 
The tournament will run from Friday through Sunday, as both there are both men and women's brackets setup for the event.
 
There will be 53 players competing in the first annual event, as 32 men and 21 women will try to win the inaugural affair.
 
UAH tennis and newly-appointed coach Daniel Finn, will be represented by Christopher Kano, Bruno Medeiros, Thales Castro, Fredrick Graaner, Jordan Belcher, Guillermo Reyes and Raphael Oliveira for the men. The women will be represented by Brandi Dykes, Alejandra Pacheco, Lina Carvajal, Kasi McDonald and Maria Lawton.
 
Along with singles action, there will also be men's and women's doubles tournaments held as well.
 
Coach Finn and assistant coach Roscoe Moonieyan have set up what looks to be a successful and highly-competitive weekend tournament.
 
First serves are scheduled for Friday morning starting at 9:30 AM.
