HUNTSVILLE | The 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America have been announced, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by two-time honoree
Mitch Wilson and first-time selection
Ryo Suzuki.

The two were selected to the team from District 5 which is comprised of institutions from the Gulf South Conference and Sunshine State Conference. UAH was the only GSC school to have representatives on the team.

Wilson lands on the list for the second year in a row as he owns a 3.60 GPA in business, and he has been strong on the pitch for the Chargers, recording a pair of game-winning goals to go along with two assists. In addition to earning the Academic All-District honor last season, the Huntsville native is also a two-time selection to the GSC All-Academic Team.

Suzuki boasts an impressive 3.95 GPA in aerospace engineering and has two scores and an assist as a terrific midfielder for the Chargers. He was named the GSC Freshman of the Year a season ago, and the sophomore also earned a place on the GSC Academic Honor Roll last year.

First-team Academic All-District soccer honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in November.

The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
