HUNTSVILLE | UAH hockey second-year head coach
Mike Corbett and Director of Athletics
Dr. E. J. Brophy are pleased to announce the 2014-15 Charger hockey schedule. The slate features 14 Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) series, two trips to Colorado and a home series against the U.S. Under-18 National Team.
The 2014-15 home-opener will be played against Bowling Green on Oct. 17-18, one week after the team opens up the season at Colorado College on Oct. 10-11 in nonconference action.
The second season for UAH in the WCHA will feature seven home WCHA series, starting with Bowling Green as the only home series in the month of October. The Chargers will also entertain Lake Superior State (Nov. 14-15), Michigan Tech (Nov. 28-29), Alaska Anchorage (Jan. 2-3), Northern Michigan (Jan. 16-17), Ferris State (Feb. 20-21) and Alaska (Feb. 27-28).
UAH will also welcome the U.S. Under-18 National Team to the Von Braun Center on Jan. 24-25. The Chargers have played the U-18's a total of six times in program history. That series will be played on a Saturday-Sunday with a puck drop of 2 p.m.
The Chargers will open the 2014-15 season with four of their first five series coming on the road. The season-opener will be at Colorado College (Oct. 10-11) and will be followed with trips to Minnesota state (Oct. 24-25), at Northern Michigan (Oct. 31-Nov. 1) and at Air Force (Nov. 7-8).
On the road following that early stretch, UAH will take on Ferris State (Nov. 21-22), Alaska (Dec. 12-13), Nebraska Omaha (Dec. 19-20), rival Bemidji State (Jan. 9-10), Michigan Tech (Jan. 30-31), Lake Superior State (Feb. 13-14) and will end the regular season at Bowling Green (Mar. 6-7).
Mike Corbett's return to Air Force in early November is one of the key storylines surrounding the upcoming schedule. Corbett coached at Air Force for 10 years before taking over the bench in Huntsville. The Chargers do not play a single home game during the month of December.
All UAH home games will be played on Friday and Saturday and will begin at 7:07 p.m. central time (with the exception of the U-18 series) at the Propst Arena at Von Braun Center.
Season ticket renewals and order information will be mailed out early this summer and will also become available online during that time. Stay tuned to
