HUNTSVILLE | The CoSIDA Academic All-District 2015-16 Men's At-Large Teams were announced on Thursday afternoon, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team was represented by
Chad Brears for the second straight season.
Â
As one of the Chargers alternate captains, Brears had the most successful performance of his career during his senior season in the 2015-16 campaign, as he posted career-highs with nine goals, 10 assists and 19 points over 30 games played. He finished the season in the team lead for goals scored and was second on the roster in points.
Â
The Cold Lake, Alberta, native has also excelled in the classroom in his time with the UAH hockey program, graduating from the University's mechanical engineering program with a 3.97 grade-point average. Brears has been a WCHA Scholar Athlete in each of his past three seasons, and was previously honored as the 2013-14 WCHA Scholar Athlete of the Year.
