HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey program and head coach Mike Corbett announced Friday the addition of a road nonconference series at Cornell and alterations to three weekend series in the upcoming 2017-18 season.
 
After opening the season at Notre Dame (Oct. 6-7) and Michigan Tech (Oct. 20-21), the Chargers will now go on back-to-back nonconference road trips with series slated at Cornell on Oct. 27-28 for the first time since 2010-11 followed by the program's inaugural trip to Tempe, Arizona, to take on the youngest NCAA Division I opponent in Arizona State on Nov. 3-4.
 
UAH and ASU were originally slated to play in Huntsville on Dec. 2-3 this season, but the programs opted to swap the home-and-home series as the squads will now face off in the Rocket City in the 2018-19 campaign.
 
Due to the changes to the nonconference schedule, UAH altered its series at home and on the road with Northern Michigan as the Chargers travel to Marquette, Michigan, now on Dec. 1-2 prior to the Wildcats heading south to Huntsville for a Feb. 3-4 series.
 
All UAH hockey home games are Friday-Saturday series at the Von Braun Center with 7 p.m. start times, with the exception of the NMU series on Feb. 3-4 which is a Saturday-Sunday series with 2 p.m. puck drops on both days.
